Welcome Ron Battle from Lewistown to the club as a new member. He will have his new scope soon.
John received an email from SMAS. Sorry, I got too caught up in the discussion and don’t remember what it was about.
We have some exciting events coming this summer.
On May 20th our Astronomy day sun party will be at Wal-Mart from noon to 6:00 pm. They have agreed to let us sell our lottery tickets on site. McDonalds has also agreed to provide coupons for a free hamburger that we can give out. We have sold 48 books of tickets so far.
June 17th to the 18th there is a fly in at Twin Bridges, Montana. This will be an air show and star party. You need to contact them if you plan to attend, as camping sites are limited.
June 23-24-25 John Dobson is scheduled to be in Lewistown. Mr. Dobson needs money for travel expenses. Volunteer donations will be appreciated. Come out and star party with Mr. Dobson inventor of the Dobsonian mount!
June 29th -July 1st NASA will be in Great Falls doing a presentation at the Interpretive Center and would like to do a star party there as well.
July 1st to 4th is our Harley Park get together. Come early and stay late for our “family reunion”.
July 20th –22nd is the Laramie Star Party in Wyoming. I hope we can get some members down there to see how they run a star party and bring some ideas home.
Montana Star Watch will be sometime in August and is being hosted by the Helena club. Stay tuned for details as we get them.
Terry will check with Golden Corral to see if they can help with donations for Star Watch 2007.
Jim Krick is working on getting our insurance for Star Watch 2007.
It’s that time of year again! Dues are due at the May meeting. Bring $15.00 to the meeting or mail them in to PO. Box 25, Simms, Montana 59477
